In place of a diary, I've been sending letters to a slowly widening group of friends and family. These are impressions of Japan, interesting (I hope) anecdotes, and portraits of the people and customs that color my everyday life here. |

| The briefest of bios: I'm Peter Rivard. I'm from a small town north of Boston, went to St. John's Prep in Danvers, then the U. of Chicago. From July 2000 to July 2003, I was a junior high school Assistant Language Teacher in Takefu City, Fukui Prefecture, Japan, as part of the JET Program. Until July 2007, I was an Elementary School ALT in Fukui City. Currently, I'm an ALT with the Numata City BoE in the mountains of northern Gunma. | |||||||||||||||||
