Mrs. A. gave birth to twins after undergoing fertility treatment at Leeds General Infirmary in the north of England. An internal inquiry revealed that the clinic had mixed up the men's sperm samples. The government has since tightened regulations at the country's fertility clinics, requiring, among other things, that two people witness every step in the procedure.
